http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO0812/S00611.htm maybe i misread, or misinterpeted, but did two hmog guys lead the attacks..? "Hmong groups in hiding in Laos in the Phou Bia, Phou Lung, and Pha Phai areas have reported that at 10:00 am on December 29, 2008, the Lao PDR government launched two military attacks by two groups of Lao Army troops, consisting of more than 120 soldiers, led by Commander Soua Yang Xiong, Commander Ai Chai, and guided by Tong Ntxoog Xiong to attack Hmong groups In-hiding in Phou Bia, Phou Lung, and Pha Phai, Laos. nonetheless, why? suck though, hmong were doing what they thought was best for them, and thta was to help out these fucker face ass americans. they wanted to get the hell out of these jungles. and damn, i'm so sick of america meddling with the business of other countries. ok, so vietnam and laos wanna be communist? alright, suck it up. i don't seee it hurtig you in anywya so stfu and stfd. jeesh. hmong genocide is happening. the us knows it is, and they know it's their damn fault. damn america. sometimes i hate this damn shitty ass country. i'm moving to canada. ok, maybe the us isn't wrong to be in other's issues cuz they want the best for evryone..and communism is kinda constricting, but shit, they didn't have to give hmongs a false sense of hope. anyhow, i was searching "hmong gencoide" on google, and brought me to this book called spirit catches you and you fall down. http://www.spiritcatchesyou.com/bookexcerpt.htm it's an excerpt, but it tells you more about the hmong people..interesting. it's about a hmong girl who has epilepsy, but her parents say it's her soul leaving and complications along that. the excerpt begins off witht he mom giving birth..wow. she does in silently cuz she thinks that screaming and whatnot would complicate it. oc. her kids don't even wake up until they hear their brother..her husband doesn't help. i think he don't even look at her. he does bring her water, without looking at her, and cut the umbilical cord. is it wrong to look at your wife during birth in the hmong culture? i feel ashamed to be asking, but i really don't know. and did you knwo that hmong women couldn't go into caves cuz they believed that certani bad spirits lived there and could rape you, causing infertility? and if you craved something, it mean your child wanted it, so if you failed to give it to them, then they would come out with a defect..interesting. and if a woman were to give birth anywhere besides her own home or the house of her husband's family, then a spirit would harm her. and i had to copy this whole thing..i find it to be very beaufitul *______* Soon after the birth, while the mother and baby were still lying together next to the fire pit, the father dug a hole at least two feet deep in the dirt floor and buried the placenta. If it was a girl, her placenta was buried under her parents' bed; if it was a boy, his placenta was buried in a place of greater honor, near the base of the house's central wooden pillar, in which a male spirit, a domestic guardian who held up the roof of the house and watched over its residents, made his home. The placenta was always buried with the smooth side, the side that had faced the fetus inside the womb, turned upward, since if it was upside down, the baby might vomit after nursing. If the baby's face erupted in spots, that meant the placenta was being attacked by ants underground, and boiling water was poured into the burial hole as an insecticide. In the Hmong language, the word for placenta means "jacket." It is considered one's first and finest garment. When a Hmong dies, his or her soul must travel back from place to place, retracing the path of its life geography, until it reaches the burial place of its placental jacket, and puts it on. Only after the soul is properly dressed in the clothing in which it was born can it continue its dangerous journey, past murderous dabs and giant poisonous caterpillars, around man-eating rocks and impassable oceans, to the place beyond the sky where it is reunited with its ancestors and from which it will someday be sent to be reborn as the soul of a new baby. If the soul cannot find its jacket, it is condemned to an eternity of wandering, naked and alone. some hmong women in the us have asked their doctors for the placenta once they gave birth, but some doctors rejected, thining the mothers would eat the placentas..wtf O_O and apparently 15% of hmong refugees have hepatitis b -__-; and when the lady had her first us birth, one of the doctors said: "The Hmong men carried these nice little silver cans to the hospital that always had some kind of chicken soup in them and always smelled great." another one said: "They always brought some horrible stinking concoction that smelled like the chicken had been dead for a week." how rude. they are reffering to that special post child birth chicken meal btw. and i found this kinda funny LOL XD Some Hmong parents in Merced have given their children American names. In addition to many standard ones, these have included Kennedy, Nixon, Pajama, Guitar, Main (after Merced's Main Street), and, until a nurse counseled otherwise, Baby Boy, which one mother, seeing it written on her son's hospital papers, assumed was the name the doctor had already chosen for him. another interesting thing. Her name was officially conferred in a ceremony called a hu plig, or soul-calling, which in Laos always took place on the third day after birth. Until this ceremony was performed, a baby was not considered to be fully a member of the human race, and if it died during its first three days it was not accorded the customary funerary rites. check this site out..great. http://www.factfinding.org/ and this is a documantary, looks pretty old, but still wanna see. lookd online and is available at some libraries..gonna go get it at central HAHA XD http://www.pbs.org/splithorn/ and like the drawings here http://www.chgs.umn.edu/museum/responses/hmongMigration/ the artist shows hmong life then and now..cool. and me and the boys wre watching an animated video of a hmong story..cool. you can see it on my youtube faves..long search HAHA XD the firts part was scary though, when the girl got kidnapped by the monster. i was like wtf O__O WOOAHH. it was sad how the savior dude said the sky will cry tears because of what is to happen, but the dude, i think his name was chee? O_O ok, just checked, and his name was ker. ok, so then at the end, ker is talking about now he realize why the sky was crying..the sky wanted to end now because what is to happen would be even worse, and he and yer (the girl) were chose to continue the humans and lead them in a right path. deep. |
